I believe in the the process of counselling to help us make changes in our lives.   If you are experiencing a tough time at the moment please contact me to see how counselling can help.  Sometimes just talking to someone can be all the help you need.  

What is Counselling?

From time to time we all experience difficulties in our lives.  This can be an addiction, depression, anxiety, stress or maybe a general feeling that something is not right.  In days gone by we may have turned to a priest,  family member or community leader to talk this through.  With ever increasing busy and stressful lives this is not always possible.  

Counselling offers you the space to talk about your concerns in a safe and confidential environment without the fear of being judged.  Counselling will give you a sense of control over your current situation.

It may take a few sessions for you to become familiar and comfortable with the counselling process, after that counselling will continue as long as we both feel is beneficial.

Theoretical Approach

I was originally trained in Psychodynamic counselling but having worked for some time as a counsellor it became clear to me that there is not one clear approach that suits all clients.  With this in mind I have trained in a number of different theories, including CBT, and will draw on this knowledge to tailor a counselling approach to your needs.  At the heart of all the work I do is a belief that you can and will get through your current difficulties with the help of counselling.
